Welcome to a new year with Bikers Heaven.
Winter has taken a hold of even southern Spain. Yesterday, we were out walking our dogs. We were like 4 snowmen in a snowscape... A first for us down here... Although we are now facing warmer times.
Our bar is open despite the weather, every day. We serve warm and cold drinks, snacks and also meals. During springtime, we plan some new things. Amongst them bbq-days and Live-music events. Details regarding dates and times to be announced. During low-season, we have special price (€ 20 per person, normally € 25) on rooms. Special price is valid through end of February. Breakfast is included as usual. Our oranges are ripe and sweet. If passing, drop in for a freshly squeezed juice and buy a couple of kilos. We also have lemons, almonds and pecans as well as the smaller and the bitterer pecan relative the Spaniards love. Our swimming-pool will be cleaned during the winter months, but we expect it to be available for all Vikings during April. Phew.... Internet at last!
After a year and a half, we now have some sort of Internet connection :-)
Well, actually Telefónica had to change our old radiophone to something new as the old systems frequencies are transferred to GSM. So, they gave us a sattellite link system... Therefore we can now access the Internet over this system in the dazzling speed of..... 9 kb/s Well, it's better than nothing, right? Anyhow, this has made us some time and opportunity to refresh the site a bit. We've remade the front, renamed the Contact us and now started to add a Links page... We've now been opened for a few days. It really exeeded our expectations. We've allready got a few regulars even...

FINALLY
Finally, Finally, Finally....
After over a year of waiting, trying to get all neccesary documents, getting the mortgage set up, more paper waitings etc etc etc....... We are now since a week finally the registered owners of the Finca. We immediately started working on the bar to at least save some of the current season.... The restaurant we'll start renovating in the fall. But now all paperwork is ready at least. We hope to open this up within two or three weeks. See you around! 17.12 [1 comment]

Long time - no action...
Well, a lot of time has passed since our last blog, but little has passed...
Still stuck in paperwork. Our first seven rooms are ready, but the bar and restaurant isn't. We've had our first boarding guests, mostly family and friends... We hope to be ready to open up fully during this spring. Lot's of more work to do, but at least we have started. And still no internet connection of our own... By the way, yesterday we had a wonderful roundtrip of about 200 km's. The sun was shining and at most we recorded 38 degrees in the sun, 27 in the shade... And this in the middle of the winter :-) Hope to have some fresh photos to put up next time... 15.52 [1 comment]

At last!
After 8 days of moore or less waterrafting we crossed the border to Spain. We landed in Irún and got us a real HiTech hotel. A ggod meal at the shopping mall next door and cervesas y vino. Moving on at the first liht tomorrow , getting closer and closer to our dream.

Final moves
We are eagerly awaiting August when we will move down. Houses are sold, trips bought, cats vaccinated, much of our belongings already stored by the movers...
Everything is not ready down there, but it _is_ Spain after all... 19 August we will be in Fuengirola and ready for finalizing the contracts, deeds and everything. In September we will be moving into the property in El Chorro. If all goes as planned, we will start with the bar, while fixing up the restaurant kitchen, so we can open up fully some months later. Grand Opening will possibly be held at the beginning of the new season. Hope to see you all there! 20.23 [4 comments]

BH is there...
Finally...
(We hope :-)) After a new trip, we have found the place, paid the reservation fees and had all papers turned in to our lawyers. If they agree to the papers being in order and no taxes are unpaid etc, we're in business. Downpayment to be settled by May 30th and we're taking over the place beginning of September. This means we will have a very hectic summer. Whenever we get the ok from our lawyers, we'll publish more info with addresses and such. 14.27 [comment]
